Protect your customers

All SSL certificates instantly protect your customers by using SHA-2 256-bit encryption and 2048-bit signing algorithm to encrypt the information they enter and keep sensitive data from falling into the wrong hands.

This enables your customers to securely make payments or enter confidential information on your website with confidence and without the risk of their details being stolen. When customers feel safe they are more likely to use your products and services.

Protect your company

Reputation is everything in business and yours should be protected if you are to succeed online. Having an SSL certificate shows your visitors you have a trustworthy online presence that can help build your reputation as a trusted online provider.

Our Standard and Extended SSLs also provide liability insurance to protect your business, giving you extra peace of mind if your certificate is issued or used incorrectly.

Protect your rankings

Google adds more weight to sites that are protected by SSL certificates and use HTTPS to serve all their pages. So as well as protecting your customers, you also have better search engine results, even if you do not host sensitive data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Making securing your website even easier

A certificate is a small data file that contains the encryption keys for the website. When a user visits a website, the browser asks that the server identifies itself. When the browser agrees that the server and the website are to be trusted, the browser opens up an encryption session.

Our certificates are provided by Starfield Technologies, one of the most trusted names in the web security industry. With over 1 million active certificates in use around the world and serving over 1 billion OCSP responses every day, they have been a Certificate Authority since 2004.

Starfield Technologies successfully completes three WebTrust audits of their certificate business every year, and their certificates adhere to the latest standards, including SHA-2 and Certificate Transparency logging. They are a member of the Microsoft, Mozilla, Apple, Google, and Oracle root programs, a founding member of the CA/Browser Forum, and participated in the development of the EV SSL standard.

To use an SSL certificate, you will need a domain that points to a server or web hosting package. You will also need an administrative email address (such as admin@my-new-domain.com) or a catch-all email address that can accept emails from Starfield Technologies. If you are purchasing an Extended Verification SSL Certificate, there must be an investigation of the organisation purchasing the certificate. This can take a number of weeks for your certificate to be processed and issued.

You will need to have your domain name, as well as your hosting package or server, with Calla Internet in order to purchase an SSL certificate. You can purchase your certificate through our Customer Area. You will then be asked to select the server or domain you wish to attach the certificate to.
